In support of the U. S. Department of State, Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, CPI recruits, selects, trains, and deploys U. S. police officers to participate in international police development programs around the world. These civilian police (CIVPOL) programs are an important component of international peacekeeping missions. By joining the CPI Team, you are representing our country's ideals of tolerance, fairness, respect, and opportunity.

CPI was created to bring new discipline, effectiveness, and responsiveness to the CIVPOL program. With the ability to capitalize on the leadership skills and integrity of many law enforcement professionals, CPI offers a comprehensive training program to ensure quality performance and ethical conduct. CPI has been tasked to enter some of the most volatile world environments, designed to implement the Rule of Law and to establish or improve the Justice and Security sectors.

CPI applies its resources and experience to ensure U.S. police officers are role models for democratic policing around the world. CPI stresses discipline, integrity, accountability, ethics and compassion to promote an environment that reforms institutions while respecting the rights of countries, communities and individuals.
